EYFS: Notes and Resources

EYFS: Notes and Resources

Why include Notes and Resources?

Notes and Resources are an easy way to upskill all members of the team, saving time and providing consistency in communicating pedagogy, moderation and policies.
1.17 A quality learning experience for children requires a quality workforce. A well qualified, skilled staff strongly increases the potential of any individual setting to deliver the best possible outcomes for children.(DfE Early Years Framework 2021)
For those using statements from the Development Matters 2020 the Notes have been included for all statements using the guidance from the Framework. Additionally, Reception statements have further notes added from Early Years specialist, Jan Dubiel to provide further exemplification.

Resources allows sharing of useful resources across a team; as well as links to moderated examples of work, online resources from commercial schemes or policies. Building up your curriculum in a central system such as Learning Ladders ensures files are not lost in Shared Drives and best practise is shared easily, available year after year.

The Curriculum Lab is a useful tool for teachers to search for resources to include in the curriculum. Resources from quality partners such as; BBC Bitesize, Oak Academy, Developing Experts have been curated in a specific search engine and allows teachers to find the exact best resource for a statement. The link takes you to the resource for review and the URL can be copied as a 'resource'.

How to add Notes and Useful Resources
Only Admin users can add Notes and Resources in the Creation Zone or when adding new Ladders using a Curriculum import file. Teacher users should speak to their school's EYFS admin user to add notes or link a resource.
